As we move decades into the future, think about what it will be like for people to view the whole world through the eyes of the past
To see all the people who walked among it at that moment in time.
All of which are now much older, or passed on
People who search Google Earth will come across some strange anomalies
Dead people, missing people, and criminals could be captured on Google earth
Google Earth will capture the before and after of cities and suburbs affected by disasters
We will see the real state of the world, one we wouldn’t otherwise get to see, through the time-lapsed perspective of Google Earth
Google Earth will be like time travel. There will be more data collected across a greater number of years, with more visuals to compare.
We will see the way things have changed over time, how things have degraded in some areas, or improved in another.
Deforestation, densification and gentrification will be starkly noticed on Google Earth.
People will make videos showing the difference over time.
There’s also a possibility that a huge chunk of Google Earth data could be removed from the internet.
Something like this could happen if a country was under the threat of war, and removed all street view data from the site to stop the enemy from studying it.
