Death isn’t always a literal death. There is “digital death”, death of the digital self.
I think we could witness a series of ‘digital deaths’ due to the changing landscape of the internet.
Some of the biggest platforms known to us now will come to their end during this transit.
This could coincide with the digital blackout, digital destruction event.

However this also means that dead people’s records will be lost. This will be irreplaceable and it will be gutting for some to know we are unable to get any of it back.
This could be one of the triggers that leads to the increase in preservation efforts with online cemeteries.
